Omnis Studio 5.1.1 - Enhanced iOS development & new SQL tools

TigerLogic Corporation is pleased to announce the general availability of Omnis Studio 5.1.1 which, amongst other enhancements, allows for dynamic client scripting functionality in the previously released Omnis iOS client. Additional features include a new SQL Query Builder (SQB) and several customer-requested enhancements. We're sure you will be pleased with the significant new functionality engineered into this product.

Omnis Studio 5.1.1 Key Features:

• Client-side scripting on the iOS client: Enabled for remote forms running on iOS devices. Developers can execute calculations and other code within the iOS client to create more powerful and interactive apps for iOS devices..
• SQL Query Builder (SQB): Powerful new tool allows developers to quickly build, run, and store SQL queries using a graphical interface, with easy dragging and dropping of tables. The SQB supports creation of both simple queries requiring little SQL knowledge and more advanced queries using different joins and clauses.
• This release contains other smaller enhancements and many fixes detailed in the Whatsnew511 (PDF) manual and product Readme (txt) file.

iOS development in Omnis Studio 5.1.1 is supported on Mac OS X, Windows XP, Vista, and 7, with the iOS build process enabled using Xcode on Mac OS X. To deploy applications to iOS devices, developers will need to sign up for Apple's iOS Developer Program to test and distribute an Omnis iOS application.
